This award winning car park was developed as a true design and construct project which started out as an OJEU advert published by Guildford Borough Council.
The team co-ordinated, produced and submitted the initial response in conjunction with a local developer and major contractor and were chosen as preferred developer to design, develop and deliver this prestigious development in partnership with the Local Authority.
It was decided very early in the process that a mixed use scheme would maximise financial returns to the Council, and in order to augment this a number of retail units at ground floor level and rooftop restaurant were incorporated into the original car parking solution.
The team worked tirelessly with the Local authority and negotiated all aspects of the scheme including the design and its development, unit sizes, restaurant operators, number of parking spaces, management of parking and electronic interface with other Council run car parks, development costs and successful construction management.
The car park was designed and operates to ‘Gold Standard Secure Car Park’ levels and the shops and Thai Terrace restaurant are popular and successful additions to the Guildford business community.
