From a concept competition to a major European retail destination.

Conceived as a new ‘retail circuit’ concept based on the architecture of the medieval fortified villages of the Alsace region our scheme for Freeport plc was won in competition and following getting all the necessary approvals from the region and City of Strasbourg.

We worked alongside the local practice Thales to procure the scheme. Opened in 2011 it has rapidly become one of the busiest centres in this part of Europe. The concept and scheme was sold to MAB of the Netherlands and Neinver of Spain who together funded the construction of the centre and successfully run it today.

Over a hundred high-end designer brand units alongside more famous High Street brands make up the mix of retail offer alongside restaurants and cafes and a farmers market. The moated lakes surrounding the centre are also used as a boating lake in the summer as well as a man-made beach with sunbeds and parasols making for a great day out.
